Katt WIlliams at the Dodge Feb 1!

KATT WILLIAMS
DODGE THEATRE
FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 1, 2008

“Katt Williams is one of Hollywood’s most sought after comedians, touted as the next Richard Pryor”
Rolling Stone Magazine

Phoenix, AZ (December 27, 2007) – Katt Williams, widely recognized for his role as “Money Mike” in the hit New Line movie Friday After Next, is currently on a multi-city comedy tour. The tour will make a stop in Phoenix to perform at Dodge Theatre on Friday, February 1. The show will begin at 8:00pm.

Katt Williams’ talent extends over multiple mediums. Known to most for his breakout role in Nick Cannon’s highly-rated MTV improv show, “Wild n’ Out,” the funnyman has appeared in music videos for everyone from Outkast (“Roses”) and Ludacris (“Stand Up” & “Number One Spot”) to E-40 (“One Night Stand”) and Lil’ Kim (“Shut Up/Lighter’s Up”), in addition to landing roles on the small and big screen.

Katt continues to receive stamps of approvals from the urban and mainstream community for his brilliance and ingenuity on screen and on-stage including being named “hottest new comedian” in Rolling Stone Magazine as well as praise from African American comedic icons such as Steve Harvey who says, “He’s one of the hottest comedians in the country.”

In September 2006 HBO aired “Katt Williams: Pimp Chronicles Pt.1,” 60 minutes of hilarious new material from the entertaining comedian taped live in Atlanta with guest appearances from Cam’ron, Lil’ Jon, Snoop Dogg, Andre 3000, Da Brat and Anthony Anderson to name a few. To follow up that success Katt taped the sequel live in Chicago titled, “KATT WILLIAMS: AMERICAN HUSTLE” which was released on DVD on November 20, 2007.

Katt’s prodigious talent seems to know no limits and he’s eager to add the title of ‘Hollywood Actor’ to his repertoire. This past February he lit up the big screen with an unforgettable role in the Eddie Murphy film Norbit (Dreamworks). Katt appears in the newly released romantic comedy, Perfect Holiday (Flavor Unit Productions) featuring Terence Howard, Queen Latifah, Morris Chestnut and Gabrielle Union. In addition Katt will star in the comedy Marshals (Dreamworks) along with co-star Eddie Murphy who will also produce the film.

Switches on tour with the Bravery

Blimey! the Brits do it again!

It's the third British invasion, and we're third time lucky, as Switches sound more Beach Boys than Beatles or Blur. They may come from across the water, but the band's self confessed spiritual home is our own west coast so there're sunny harmonies amongst that London grime!

America Turns on to Switches
“Combining foot-stomping drums and bass with tight vocals and sharp guitar riffs, Switches are as cocksure as their pop piers” - Spin.

“The British indie rising stars have created another Brit Pop hit and are making confident future strides with their Switches Swagger.” - Filter

Switches are a British band with as much swagger as they have top notch pop tunes to offer. With the forthcoming release of their debut album Lay Down The Law (Interscope), out on March 18th 2008 and a US national tour, kicking off in January with The Bravery then making their way to sunny Texas for SXSW, Switches are sure to inject new life into the indie-pop scene for 2008.

Every once in a while, a great British pop band emerges from the gray and gloom that is the United Kingdom. Indeed, Brits may complain about the weather quite a lot but it's the likely culprit responsible for the creation of an array of iconic artists, bands and songs since the birth of pop.Southenders, Switches are no exeption to the rule and are sure to have the same effect as their heroes and rock-forefathers Bowie, ELO and 10cc had before them in the USA.

From Rags to Switches...

MattFront man, Matt grew up in Southend (a low-rent seaside town, something likethe old Asbury Park neighborhood) and formed the band while at college, needing musical allies to take the songs public: seventies-leaning songwriter with a love for ELOand 10cc even though he wasn't born while they reigned, obsessive to thepoint of chaos, finds his harmony in a harmony and his voice when it's intune. He's a fully-fledged Child Of Britpop.
OllieOllie Thomas, guitar: musical wunderkind aspiring to psychedelic-tingedvirtuosity ala Hendrix, but also partial to some tough new wave in theStranglers and Television. Affable and eloquent, he's the calm to Matt'sstorm. ThomThom Kirkpatrick, bass: belt and braces, biscuits and tea, Beatles and BenFolds, particularly English, even for someone from Britain, unsurprising fora man whose great-great-great-great-great grandfather invented the bicycletrue!. SteveSteve Godfrey, drums: drums and more drums: personifies his instrument. Helives to drum, drums to live, learned Appetite For Destruction on pencilsand saucepans so by the time he got his first kit he could play the recordfaultlessly, hasn't stopped since."Switches spectacularly combine all that is good about British indy (newwave bounce, three part harmonies, guitars that 'chug') with all that isgood about US indy (The Pixies, pretty much). We really don't need to remindyou how all-powerful such a record could be." - NME "...jaded indie rock to dance to like disco spastics... "Drama Queen," which features an honest-to-God memorable chorus in a time where it often feels like catchiness has gone out of style. One can almost see the screaming teenage fans, the legions of American popsters that will find their indie rock niche with this accessible-yet-inventive powerpop quartet." - Head Exploder

DONOVAN
“TROUBADOUR”
FIRST EVER ARIZONA PERFORMANCE AT
Orpheum theatre
FEBRUARY 6, 2008

Phoenix, AZ (December 18, 2007) – The legendary folk-rock-pop troubadour Donovan, will play a solo acoustic show at Orpheum Theatre on Wednesday, February 6. This will mark the first time in Donovan’s career that he will perform in Arizona. The show will begin at 7:30 pm.

Donovan Leitch began his career as an itinerant folk musician, creating acoustic hits in 1965 with the gentle “Catch The Wind” and “Colours” and his version of Buffy Sainte Marie’s protest anthem “Universal Soldier” before transforming the pop music landscape with a series of enigmatic and wondrous pop masterpieces that continue to be played on radio and television. From 1966 through 1969, Donovan scored a string of eleven Top 40 hits in a row, including “Mellow Yellow,” “Sunshine Superman,” “Epistle To Dippy,” “There Is A Mountain,” “Wear Your Love Like Heaven,” “Hurdy Gurdy Man,” “Jennifer Juniper,” “Lalena,” “Atlantis,” and “Riki Tiki Tavi.”Donovan was one of the few artists to collaborate on songs with the Beatles, contributing lyrics to the song “Yellow Submarine”. He was also invited by the Beatles to join them at Abbey Road Studios for the final orchestral overdub session for the Lennon-McCartney collaboration “A Day in the Life,” the grand finale of Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band. He influenced John Lennon and Paul McCartney in their guitar styles during the famous trip to India in 1968 where they first learned Transcendental Meditation and bought it back to the West in a huge way. During his career, Donovan has played with folk music greats Pete Seeger, Joan Baez, and Bob Dylan, as well as rock musicians Jimmy Page of Led Zeppelin and Jeff Beck.
In the past five years, he has completed the successful album Beat Café; a new box set, Try for the Sun: The Journey of Donovan; and a book, The Autobiography of Donovan: The Hurdy Gurdy Man (Arrow Books). Donovan also fulfilled his 40-year interest in Transcendental Meditation by heading up the musical wing of the David Lynch Foundation for Consciousness-Based Education and World Peace.

This year Donovan celebrates his 40th anniversary of his trip to India with the Beatles where they studied transcendental mediation and bought it back to the West.

Paul Potts 'Britain's Got Talent' Winner plays Mesa Arts Center

Opera Extraordinaire and
'Britain's Got Talent' Winner
Paul Potts
Mesa Arts Center
March 27, 2008

Phoenix, AZ (December 11, 2007) – International opera sensation Paul Potts will perform in concert at the Ikeda Theater in Mesa on Thursday, March 27. The show will begin at 7:30 P.M.
Potts, 37, transformed himself from a mobile phone salesman to a rising star after winning the hit UK show 'Britain's Got Talent.' Now, with over 30 million hits, the video of his soaring first audition is among the most-watched videos ever on YouTube. Potts has overcome many financial, physical and emotional hardships that preceded his triumph on the show. Already beloved around the globe, the singer is now bringing his inspirational story and music to the U.S. with the release of 'One Chance.'Bullied as a child, suffering financial difficulties as an adult and experiencing a devastating bicycle accident in 2003, Potts always found solace in opera, but a lack of self-confidence kept him from pursuing the career path of his hero Pavarotti. Yet in feeling that singing was what he was born to do, Potts mustered the courage and stood awkwardly before the judges of Britain's acclaimed reality TV show, including American Idol's Simon Cowell, at his March audition. When asked what he was there for, Potts stated matter-of-factly, "to sing opera" and was immediately met with questioning stares. But when Potts launched into an unexpected, soaring rendition of "Nessun Dorma," he reduced many in the audience to tears and made believers of all who have seen the performance since. Click here to watch the audition.'One Chance' debuted at the top of the European charts when it was released in July. Critics hailed the U.S release of the album on September 18th. "Paul Potts can hold his own with the 'gods' of the High C's!" enthused BlogCritics.

Matchbox Twenty comes to Phoenix!

“EXILE IN AMERICA”:
** MATCHBOX TWENTY **
RETURNING TO THE ROAD
FOR FIRST CROSS-COUNTRY TOUR IN OVER FOUR YEARS
WITH ALANIS MORISSETTE
CRICKET WIRELESS PAVILION
MARCH 17, 2008

Phoenix, AZ (December 11, 2007) - Melisma/Atlantic recording group MATCHBOX TWENTY has announced their first North American concert tour in over four years. The cross-country “Exile In America” itinerary will also feature special guests Alanis Morissette and MUTEMATH. The tour will stop in Phoenix at Cricket Wireless Pavilion on Monday, March 17. The show will begin at 7:00pm.

“We’re all completely pumped about getting back together and heading out on the road after all this time, especially since we have a bunch of new songs to play for everyone,” said vocalist Rob Thomas. “And we’re thrilled to be joined by the brilliant Alanis Morissette and the fantastic New Orleans band MUTEMATH. It’s going to be a great show, and we can’t wait to get out there.”

"I can't wait to share some new songs, connect with people around North America again, and join Matchbox Twenty’s traveling circus,” shared Alanis Morissette. “So psyched!"

MATCHBOX TWENTY last toured in 2003, wrapping up their SRO global itinerary in December of that year. The tour, which earned acclaim from coast to coast and around the globe, was highlighted by sold-out shows at three of the world’s premier rock venues – New York’s Madison Square Garden, London’s Wembley Arena, and Los Angeles’ Staples Center. MATCHBOX TWENTY reunited two years later for two sold-out New Year’s shows in Las Vegas. The 2008 dates will mark the band’s first tour as a four-piece, with Paul Doucette shifting from drummer to guitarist in the band line-up – which also includes vocalist Rob Thomas, guitarist Kyle Cook, and bassist Brian Yale.

The announcement of MATCHBOX TWENTY’s return to the concert trail follows the release of the band’s new album, EXILE ON MAINSTREAM, which debuted at #3 on the Billboard 200, while also premiering at #1 on SoundScan’s Current Alternative Albums chart. This marked the biggest first week of the year for a greatest hits collection, with the #3 premiere also matching the group’s previous highest Billboard 200 debut, 2000’s Mad Season.

TICKETS ON-SALE MONDAY, DECEMBER 17 AT 10AM
Reserved tickets priced at $70.00, $53.50, $33.50 and $24.00 will go on-sale Monday, December 17 at 10am at Cricket Wireless Pavilion Box Office (10am-5pm), http://www.eveningstarproductions.com/ and all Ticketmaster outlets. A venue parking fee, applicable taxes, service and handling charges may be applied. To charge by phone, call 480.784.4444 (Phoenix Metro Area) or 520.321.1000 (Outside Phoenix Area). All dates, acts, and ticket prices are subject to change without notice. All tickets are subject to applicable taxes, and service and handling charges. For more show information, check out http://www.ticketmaster.com/.

A look back and a look ahead, EXILE ON MAINSTREAM features the smash single and video, “How Far We’ve Come.” The first album from the group in five years, it combines a six-track EP of new songs, marking the band’s first work with Grammy winning producer Steve Lillywhite, with a retrospective of the band’s greatest hits culled from their three previous albums, produced by Grammy winner Matt Serletic.

MATCHBOX TWENTY has sold some 30 million records to date. They were named Best New Band in the 1997 Rolling Stone Readers Poll, and followed the RIAA Diamond Award success of their 1996 breakthrough debut, Yourself or Someone Like You, with two more multi-platinum sets – 2000’s Mad Season and 2002’s More Than You Think You Are. Among their many accolades are five Grammy nominations and three American Music Award nominations, while vocalist and songwriter Rob Thomas has earned three Grammy Awards, 11 BMI Awards, and has been twice named Billboard Songwriter of the Year.

Since 1995 Alanis Morissette has become one of the most influential singer-songwriter-musicians in contemporary music. Her deeply expressive music and performances have earned vast critical praise, seven Grammy Awards, and a dedicated fan base that extends throughout the world, with album sales exceeding 40 million. Morissette’s 1995 debut, Jagged Little Pill, was followed by such eclectic and acclaimed albums as Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie (1998), MTV Unplugged (1999), Under Rug Swept (2002), So-Called Chaos (2004), Jagged Little Pill Acoustic (2005), her greatest hits album, The Collection (2005), as well as musical contributions to theatrical releases. She is currently putting the finishing touches on her new studio album, Flavors Of Entanglement, which will be released in 2008 on Maverick Records. In addition, Morissette recently announced her first lead film role as “Sylvia” in the film adaptation of Philip K Dick's novel “Radio Free Albemuth.”

It’s a daunting task to describe the sound of Nashville-based quartet MUTEMATH. Their self-titled Teleprompt/Warner Bros. record album debut draws from an eclectic confluence of influences and styles that form some kind of intelligent, melodic rock music that feels both familiar and brand new at the same time. Alternative Press magazine recently named MUTEMATH the “#1 Band You Need To See Live Before You Die.” The band’s recent live television appearances on Letterman, Conan, Kimmel, and Ferguson have blown minds and made lasting impressions. This will be the band’s most extensive tour to date.
