MARY J. BLIGE & JAY-Z HEART OF THE CITY TOUR

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Live Nation is proud to announce

MARY J. BLIGE & JAY-Z
HEART OF THE CITY TOUR
US AIRWAYS CENTER
APRIL 15, 2008

70 MILLION ALBUMS, 12 GRAMMYS
2 SUPERSTARS, 1 STAGE

Phoenix, AZ (February 29, 2008) At long last, with over 70 million combined albums sold worldwide and 12 Grammy wins together, Mary J. Blige and JAY-Z will embark on a historic 25-date North American co-headlining tour, with a stop in Phoenix to perform at US Airways Center on Tuesday, April 15. The “Mary J. Blige & JAY-Z: Heart of the City” tour marks the first time in more than 15 years that an African American male/female bill of this stature have co-headlined a national concert tour.

The Live Nation and Haymon Events produced tour kicks off on March 22nd at Miami’s American Airlines Arena and will hit major markets along the eastern seaboard as well as New Orleans, Houston, Las Vegas and Oakland.

The "Mary J. Blige & JAY–Z: Heart of the City" tour is the pinnacle of Mary and Jay’s long-time collaboration which began in 1996 with the classic "Can't Knock The Hustle.” The multi-Grammy award winning powerhouses are two of the most successful artists of our time whose influence stretch far beyond any musical borders.

This will be JAY-Z's first arena tour since his successful JAY-Z and Friends Tour in 2004 and the first to feature material from his 2006 Kingdom Come album and 2007's critically acclaimed American Gangster album. A multiple Grammy, American Music Award and VMA award winner, JAY-Z has continued to set the bar for all artists and entrepreneurs. Co-founder of Roc-A-Fella Records, he currently is the president of Rocawear, part owner of the New Jersey Nets and co-owner of the successful 40/40 chain. Most recently, Shawn “JAY-Z” Carter held the title of President of Def Jam Records where he helped guide the careers of superstar artists and multiple Grammy nominees such as Rihanna, Ne-Yo, NAS, Kanye West and Young Jeezy.

Mary J. Blige is a truly iconic artist whose longevity in the music business is a rarity. Her 8th and current studio album, Growing Pains (released 12/18 on Matriarch/Geffen), reached platinum in three weeks and is grabbing the hearts of the critics and fans alike. People magazine says “There are three things you can count on: death, taxes and good Mary J. Blige albums.”

A six-time Grammy Award winner, Mary has won more than 25 awards in all, including NAACP Awards, American Music Awards, Billboard Awards, BET Awards, MTV’s Video Music Awards, Soul Train Awards and more. Over the span of her 15-year career, Mary has blessed us with 8 platinum and multi-platinum studio albums (she released a live album in 1998 and a greatest hits album in 2005 both to critical acclaim and incredible sales) selling more than 40 million copies worldwide. With every album she has proven that hers is a voice of healing; a voice of reckoning.

TICKETS ON-SALE SATURDAY, MARCH 8 AT 10 A.M.
Reserved tickets priced at $125.75, $99.75, $79.75 and $49.75 will go on-sale at 10am on Saturday, March 8 at US Airways Center Box Office, and all Ticketmaster and all Tickemaster outlets. Kenny Chesney's Poets & Pirates Tour hits Phoenix on May 31st!

Kenny Chesney's Poets & Pirates

Goes Full Sale - 2008 Tour Hits 34 Cities Including 14 Stadiums in 5 Months

Nashville: He's sung “All my friends are pirates, it's just who I am…,” and now three-in-a-row and reigning Academy of Country Music and triple and current Country Music Association Entertainer of the Year Kenny Chesney calls all his friends for the annual good time reason to be: his summer concert tour. With tourmate LeAnn Rimes and a special opening situation to be announced shortly, Chesney plays 34 cities across America on his Corona Extra sponsored Poets & Pirates Tour.

“It's hard to know which cities to play and which ones to take a break from,” Chesney says of his annual fun, sun'n'friendship celebrating concerts. “You want to go everywhere, but then you know you can only do so many cities - and this year's show is going to be very intense. It's not necessarily the tricks or the production, though that's part of it, but just even figuring out the set list, there's an awful lot to bringing all this together - and this year is going to be amazing.”
With 14 stadium dates -- featuring five different line-ups -- already announced in Columbia, SC; Baltimore, MD; Cleveland, OH; Detroit, MI; Pittsburgh, PA; Atlanta, GA; Dallas, TX; Philadelphia, PA; Phoenix, AZ; Nashville, TN; Chicago, IL; San Francisco, CA; Foxboro, MA and Indianapolis, IN, the rest of the tour will be fleshed out with a combination of outdoor amphitheatres and large arenas. It all kicks off April 18-19 with a double play in Uncasville, Connecticut.

“People don't realize going from arena to amphitheatre to stadium to amphitheatre keeps you on your game,” laughs the easy-going singer/songwriter who enjoyed 14 weeks in 2007 at #1 on the country singles chart as an artist and an additional 3 weeks as a writer. “Because, you know, I didn't… I don't think I really got how different going from one to the other is, until we were in the middle of it last summer. Then you find yourself going, 'Oh, you can't do that here…,' or 'Oh, yeah, tonight that's possible…'”

The ability to be so completely in a moment, so alive and so connected to the fans who've come to see him is part of what's distinguished the only artist who's sold over a million concert tickets every year for the past six summers - and whose Flip Flop Summer 2007 Tour was the 2nd biggest tour last year behind legendary rock band the Police's two-decades-in-the-making Reunion Tour. That unfailing will to embody the lives that his fans, his friends, indeed Chesney himself live has made the Luttrell, Tennessean's show a rite of summer.

“It always blows me away when people tell me they don't plan their summer trips until they know when your show is coming through,” he admits shyly. “I mean, I know there were those acts I felt like that about growing up… you know, it wasn't summer if you didn't see'em; you had to be there with your friends or else you missed the show that was gonna make that summer real. The idea that it's me and my guys, well, it still blows me away every time someone in a meet and greet line tells me that.”

As “Shiftwork,” the Calypso-tinged celebration of hard-working people getting their play on, hits the Top 10 this week, Chesney sees his Tim Hensley Long Monday bluegrass project and Willie Nelson's Moment of Forever poised to hit the streets next week - and the road starting to rise up to meet him. For a man who thrives on live, good friends and great songs, it's a good time to be Kenny Chesney.

When Life Gives You Lemons, You Paint That Shit Gold Out April 22nd On Rhymesayers - SXSW Listening Event Friday, March 14th at 2pm.

Minneapolis, MN - February 19th 2008: If five releases from Atmosphere in less than a year doesn't have you already convinced that Minneapolis' Slug and Ant are the hardest working men in the biz, 19 North American tour dates through April and May across the US and Canada should set the record straight. In addition to the three Sad Clown EPs and free full length digital release, Strictly Leakage, Atmosphere will be touring in support of their sixth upcoming studio full length, When Life Gives You Lemons, You Paint That Shit Gold (April 22nd, Rhymesayers). Atmosphere's notoriously energy driven and sold-out shows have brought the band to New Zealand, Australia, Japan, South Korea, Canada, Europe in years past and this round they'll be premiering new material to North America fans first. Full list of confirmed dates are below.

When Life Gives You Lemons, You Paint That Shit Gold, will mark Atmosphere’s most complete album to date. Recorded in the dead of Winter, and influenced by fatherhood, Slug’s storytelling and ant’s lush melodies have never been more poignant. A limited edition run of When Life Gives You Lemons, You Paint That Shit Gold will be packaged as a 40 page hard cover black fabric book with gold embossing. In addition to lyrics, credits and an illustrated children's story written by Slug, the deluxe package will include a bonus DVD with over an hour of live footage and extras from the final shows of the Everybody Loves A Clown tour shot at First Avenue nightclub in Minneapolis, with Dolby 5.1 surround audio.

Slug and Ant have started running a video blog series where fans send in questions and they answer them called "Paint It Gold." They'll be launching a new webisode each week leading into release of When Life Gives You Lemons, You Paint That Shit Gold and the debut webisode is up now here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V35BNwfeDos

"Slug Daley... sounds refreshingly unconcerned with ice, bling, or gats. Instead, as his dj ODs on soul samples, Slug sweats the girls who don't call him back, worries what his son thinks of him, and wonders whether he's getting too old for this rap shit. He's not." - MAXIM

AT JOBING.COM ARENA ON MARCH 2

Phoenix, AZ (February 13, 2008) - Foo Fighters have expanded their career Grammy take to six, as the band won Best Rock Album and Best Hard Rock Performance at the 50th Annual Grammy Awards on Sunday night. Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace is the third Foo Fighters release to win Best Rock Album, after One By One and There Is Nothing Left To Lose in 2004 and 2000 respectively.

The Foos performed the massive hit at the awards ceremony, assisted by the My Grammy Moment Orchestra as arranged and conducted by Led Zeppelin’s legendary multi-instrumentalist John Paul Jones.

Next week the Foos will embark on the second leg of a national tour, including a stop in Glendale with special guests Against Me! and Serj Tankian at Jobing.com Arena on Sunday, March 2, a two night stand at The Forum in Los Angeles, a sold out show at New York’s Madison Square Garden, and a rescheduled date in Fayetteville AR. Tickets for the 2008 Circle K Tempe Music Festival, Arizona’s largest music festival, go on sale at 10 a.m. through Ticketmaster and Live Nation on February 14, 2008. Advanced ticket prices range from $35 for general admission to $125 for the VIP Area, and tickets are limited. Weekend passes are also available. The event headliners this year will be My Chemical Romance on Friday and Fergie on Saturday, with additional acts being named each week leading up to the big event.

“We are stepping it up this year in a big way with our headliners and “more than music attractions,” said Ken Koziol, co-founder of the Tempe Music Festival. “The Superbowl and FBR set the bar very high for 2008 – a bar we fully intend to meet with our festival.”
The 6TH Annual Circle K Tempe Music Festival is being held March 28 and 29 at Tempe Beach Park and boasts three stages of entertainment featuring national, regional and local acts. The event will also host its annual “Garage Band Competition” sponsored by SRP, Fender Musical Instrument Corporation and Cox Communications, where high school and college-aged bands from across Arizona will compete for scholarships, all new instruments from Fender, and the opportunity to open for the event headliners.
In addition to the 30-plus musical acts performing on the three stages over the weekend, the event has come to be known as much more than music with some of the most unique attractions Arizona has ever seen.
These include:
· The Dillard’s Rock’n’Roll Fashion Show
· The Rock Star Energy Drink Extreme Sports demonstrations including BMX bike, skateboard and much more
· The Land Shark Beach Lounge
· The Bud Light Sports Bar
· The Gatorade Sports Village with a free interactive sports area that includes foosball, pop-a-shot basketball, air hockey and darts
· The SRP Lil’ Rockers Area with hands-on interactive instruments and music-related arts and crafts as well as karaoke and a children’s musical museum
· The SRP Music Shack & Garage Band Competition where the SRP Garage Band Competition finalists will battle it out to see who will open for the event headliners
Circle K will also build a fully operational store on-site, and nearly 40 food, beverage and retail vendors will be offering product samplings, giveaways and other promotions all weekend long.
“If FBR is the greatest show on grass, we like to think of ourselves as the greatest show right next to a man-made lake in the desert,” said Kevin Koziol, Ken’s brother and co-founder of the event.

The Circle K Tempe Music Festival has again partnered with Arizona State University for a student night on Friday, as well as partnering again with the Tempe Festival of the Arts to become “Tempe Arts & Entertainment Weekend.” The music festival has also partnered with several local charities including United Cerebral Palsy and Cox Charities.

Foo Fighters World Tour comes to Phoenix March 2

FOO FIGHTERS COME TO JOBING.COM ARENA
MARCH 2, 2008 7:30PM
With Special Guests - Against Me! & Serj Tankian

“New songs, old songs, it didn't matter: the Foos rocked and fans ate it up.”- Albany Times-Union

After selling a staggering 163,000 tickets in 24 hours for their June 6 & 7 stand at London’s Wembley Stadium, Foo Fighters have set their sights on America. The band has confirmed the bulk of their first American tour in support of their new album Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace. This will be the band’s biggest American tour to date. As on their warm up dates earlier this fall, core Foo Fighters Dave Grohl, Nate Mendel, Taylor Hawkins and Chris Shiflett will be joined by Pat Smear on guitar, Rami Jaffee on keyboards, Drew Hester on percussion, and Jessy Greene on strings. Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace is Foo Fighters’ sixth studio album and has already proven itself a worthy addition to the band’s discography, as songs like “The Pretender” and new single “Long Road To Ruin” are holding their own every night alongside known barnburners like “My Hero” and “All My Life”. As Entertainment Weekly said of the new album, “the band has taken everything it’s always done best… and brought it to the next level.”
Against Me!, the punk rock band from Gainesville, Florida will open for the Foo Fighters. On July 10, 2007, Against Me! released their first major-label album New Wave, after three successful full-length records on indie labels-- Reinventing Axl Rose (No Idea, 2002); As the Eternal Cowboy (Fat Wreck Chords, 2003) and Searching For a Former Clarity (Fat Wreck Chords 2005). New Wave debuted at #57 on the Billboard 200 the week of its release. The record features their first chart single, "Thrash Unreal", which hit #12 on the US Modern Rock chart.

AN EVENING WITH JACKSON BROWNE

Live Nation is very proud to present

AN EVENING WITH JACKSON BROWNE
MESA ARTS CENTER
APRIL 14, 2008

Phoenix, AZ (February 6, 2008) – On March 4, 2008, singer-songwriter Jackson Browne will release JACKSON BROWNE–SOLO ACOUSTIC, VOL. 2, the second in a series of live albums recorded at recent solo concerts in the U.S., the U.K. and Australia. In support of the album release Jackson Browne will make a stop in Mesa to perform at Ikeda Theater on Monday, April 14. The show will begin at 7:30 pm.

Building on 2005’s critically acclaimed and GRAMMY®-nominated Jackson Browne – Solo Acoustic, Vol. 1, VOL.2 features twelve career spanning songs, with Browne alternately on both guitar and piano. Also like its predecessor, it features lively exchanges between Jackson and his audiences. The disc will be available on the artist’s own Inside Recordings label, with distribution through ADA.

Two selections from JACKSON BROWNE – SOLO ACOUSTIC, VOL. 2, “Something Fine” and “Redneck Friend,” reach back to the artist’s landmark 1972 self-titled debut album, about which Rolling Stone wrote in its original review, “Jackson Browne’s sensibility is romantic in the best sense of the term: his songs are capable of generating a highly charged, compelling atmosphere throughout, and – just as important – of sustaining that pitch in the listener’s mind long after they’ve ended.”

That rapt connection is felt throughout JACKSON BROWNE–SOLO ACOUSTIC, VOL. 2., which also features four songs from Browne’s most recent studio album, 2002’s The Naked Ride Home: “Never Stop,” “The Night Inside Me,” “My Stunning Mystery Companion” and “Casino Nation”. Other highlights include “In The Shape Of A Heart,” from 1987’s Lives In The Balance, “Sky Blue And Black” from 1993’s I’m Alive, “Alive In This World” from ‘96’s Looking East and the 1982 Top 10 hit “Somebody’s Baby,” originally featured on the Fast Times At Ridgemont High soundtrack.

Throughout his career, Jackson Browne has defined a genre of songwriting and performing charged with honesty, emotion and personal politics. He’s been honored with inductions into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame (2004) and the Songwriter’s Hall of Fame (2007). As influential and enduring as Browne’s music is his legacy as an advocate for social and environmental justice. Recent humanitarian honors include the John Steinbeck Award and the Chapin-World Hunger Year Harry Chapin Humanitarian Award. In 2007, Browne re-united with his Musicians United For Safe Energy (MUSE) co-founders Graham Nash and Bonnie Raitt to oppose a revival of the nuclear energy industry.

JOHNNY RIVERS IN THE ROUND FRI., FEB. 22ND

JOHNNY RIVERS IN THE ROUND FRI., FEB. 22ND

PHOENIX, AZ – “Secret Agent Man” JOHNNY RIVERS rocks Phoenix at the intimate Celebrity Theatre on Friday, February 22nd. Tickets start as low as 27.50!

In the pantheon of easy-to-play guitar licks, the opening of "Secret Agent Man" is up there with "Sunshine of Your Love" and "Satisfaction." The Top 5 hit in 1966 is currently featured on the J.P. Morgan Chase Bank television commercial. It was just one of a string of top-sellers for Rivers, who sold more than 20 million records in the '60s alone. Rising to worldwide fame during the height of Beatlemania with a series of albums recorded at the Whisky A Go-Go on Sunset Strip, the soulful singer was first known for toughening up vintage rock 'n' roll standards. In the late '60s, though, Rivers changed direction with the self-penned chart-topper "Poor Side of Town," a soulful ballad followed by another in a similar vein, "Summer Rain." During the '70s and beyond, Rivers returned to his rockin' roots, cutting album after album of vibrant rock 'n' roll.

“Last Boogie in Paris: the Complete Concert” was recorded live on May 23, 1973 and released last summer. Among its exhilarating live versions are the Clowns’ “Rockin’ Pneumonia and the Boogie Woogie Flu” and Carl Perkins’s “Blue Suede Shoes.”

Rivers’ 40 plus year career is chronicled on his self-produced two-disc collection of material: “Secret Agent Man: The Ultimate Johnny Rivers Anthology: 1964-2006. The Anthology features 19 of his chart hits, including 15 hard-to-find tracks released on his own label, plus two new recordings. Included are covers of Chuck Berry’s “Memphis” and “Maybelline,” which were recorded live at Hollywood’s “Whisky A Go Go” in early 1964, as well his best known record, 1966’s “Secret Agent Man.” Anthology entered the Collector's Choice Music chart at #1 two months prior to the national distribution release date.

Showtime is set for 8 p.m. Tickets (27.50, 37.50, 42.50) are available at Celebrity Theatre or online at CelebrityTheatre.com. To charge by phone call 602-267-1600 ext.1. All tickets are subject to a surcharge. Celebrity Theatre is conveniently located on 32nd St., just 4 blocks south of the Loop 202 freeway, in Phoenix.

TURBO OCHO - A new album based on first-ever RCPM VivaCast available March 15, 2008

Phoenix, AZ (January 29, 2008) – Roger Clyne & the Peacemakers (RCPM) will release the much-anticipated CD/DVD chronicle of January 2008’s revolutionary reality-recording experiment, Turbo Ocho. RCPM coined the term “VivaCast” to describe their 8-day recording of Turbo Ocho. The package features the original VivaCast in its entirety (8 new songs and 10 videos) plus 3 new studio songs with additional video footage. The album will launch with a kick-off concert in Phoenix at Celebrity Theatre on Saturday, March 15. Shooter Jennings will open the 8:00 pm show.

Roger Clyne & The Peacemakers have been independent pioneers in the music business for 10 years. This year they once again step to the edge of the envelope with the release of Turbo Ocho, the first-ever RCPM VivaCast, a web cast that brought daily audio and video updates to thousands of homes during the recording process, culminating with a sold out concert in Cholla Bay, Mexico. RCPM once again broke through old definitions of what is expected of a rock and roll band and forged their own path directly to what matters most, the fans.

Turbo Ocho is rock and roll in its purest form. The album’s vibration is edgy, and careless and celebratory. From the bravado of “I Know You Know” to the restorative heart of “Mercy” to the straight up rock in “I Do,” its imperfections and spontaneity are honest and exciting as it takes you through your own personal rock and roll journey of love, loss, growth and even a little siesta.

Clyne’s songwriting is often compared to the greats of Rock and Americana music, including Bruce Springsteen, Tom Petty, John Mellencamp and Steve Earle. As frontman for mid-90s The Refreshments, Clyne scored hits with the singles “Banditos” and “Down Together” and also secured a place in TV history when he penned and performed the super-energized theme for the hit animated FOX-TV show, “King of the Hill”.

Country rocker Shooter Jennings is widely known for his live show and the energy that explodes from each performance with his band, the .357’s. Shooters gripping third studio album, aptly titled The Wolf was released in October 2007. The Wolf’s thirteen tracks present a compelling portrait of a young man and his music. It’s full of fire and conviction – about what music can mean in people’s lives, about overcoming setbacks through sheer strength of will, and about how being tough means being willing to feel and acknowledge painful emotions.

ADRIAN BELEW POWER TRIO
THE RHYTHM ROOM
FEBRUARY 28, 2008

Click here for tickets to National tour dates

Pioneering Guitarist/Composer/Vocalist/Electronic Artist Tours new Live CD

Phoenix, AZ (February 4, 2008) - Since 2006, Adrian Belew has led his favorite ‘Power Trio’ lineup, featuring Eric Slick on drums and Julie Slick on bass. They have been devastating audiences all around the USA and globally, from Italy to Canada to Germany to Japan. With the release of their brand-new CD “Side Four (Live)” they return to the road to stretch out the new material and introduce it to new audiences. The Adrian Belew Power Trio will stop in Phoenix to perform at the Rhythm Room on Thursday, February 28. The show will begin at 7:30pm with special guest Saul Zonana.

The show will feature material from the new CD, classics from Adrian’s many solo albums (including the recent ‘Side One’, ‘SideTwo’, and ‘Side Three’), as well as solo moments, spirited improvisation and King Crimson compositions. ‘Side One’ features special guests Les Claypool (Primus) and Danny Carey (Tool), and includes the Grammy-Nominated single - “Beat Box Guitar”. The recently released “Side Four (Live)” captures the current trio in a burning performance.

Adrian Belew is well-known for his diverse travels around the musical map – he first appeared on guitar-world radar when he joined Frank Zappa’s band in 1977 for tours of the USA and Europe. When Frank Zappa hires you as his guitarist, people listen up. And well they should have–Adrian’s signature tones and influences are all over Zappa’s movie “Baby Snakes” as well as his biggest-selling album “Sheik Yerbouti”. His unique use of effects and whammy bar remains completely different, and his techniques continue to be a huge influence on scores of guitarists.

The 80s and 90s were a wild ride through countless tours and albums with David Bowie, Talking Heads, Laurie Anderson, Paul Simon, and Nine Inch Nails. In addition, there were Adrian’s many albums & tours, both solo and with The Bears. For over 25 years he has been the lyricist, voice and co-guitarist (with Robert Fripp) of progressive rock legends KING CRIMSON. In between touring, writing, recording and a plethora of guitar magazine awards, Adrian has always found time for producing other artists and releasing his own songs and sonic experiments.

The new POWER TRIO has energized Adrian to an incredible degree – “‘The Slicks’ bring a whole new energy to the band,” says Adrian. “I honestly feel like we can do anything now. They’re great to play with and this band sounds incredible.”

Adrian has several projects ahead for this year, including some King Crimson dates, a huge gear auction, a new studio record featuring the Power Trio, solo concerts, and some special projects involving one of his other great loves – art. Already an accomplished painter, Adrian is responsible for several of his CD covers including all of the recent “Side” series releases.
