AL JARREAU & SINBAD With Everette Harp
PHOENIX, AZ The Sanderson Ford Lincoln Mercury Volvo Music Series presents an evening of laughter and music featuring 7-Time Grammy Award winner AL JARREAU and comedys big gun SINBAD at 8 p.m. on Friday, May 16th. The evening also stars special guest saxophonist EVERETTE HARP.
AL JARREAUs Phoenix concert is one of a limited number of intimate engagements in support of his new album Al Jarreau: Love Songs. The project follows the recent success of his 2-time Grammy winning collaboration with George Benson titled Givin It Up. Jarreau is the only vocalist in history to win Grammy awards in three separate categories: jazz, pop, and R&B. And he won the aforementioned Grammys within a span of four consecutive decades the '70s, '80s, '90s and '00s. One of Jarreau's most successful albums is Breakin Away (1981), which includes the hit song "We're in This Love Together." He also wrote and performed the Grammy-nominated theme to the 1980s American television show Moonlighting.
The always clean, animated and hilariously funny SINBAD made his big screen debut in the 1991 comedy Necessary Roughness. Other motion picture credits include First Kid, Houseguest, Jingle All The Way, and Homeward Bound II. On television, he starred in HBOs Cherokee Kid, and was the star and executive producer of his own Fox TV sitcom "The Sinbad Show" and HBOs Sinbads Summer Weekend II. Sinbads Summer Jam won the prestigious NAACP Image Award consecutively for two years for "Most Outstanding Variety Series/Special." Recently, the actor publicly sided with Obama in the war over foreign policy credentials. Sinbad, along with singer Sheryl Crow, was on the 1996 trip to Bosnia that Clinton has described as a harrowing international experience. In an interview with the Washington Post, Sinbad said the "scariest" part of the trip was wondering where he'd eat next.
Funky, R&B-oriented saxophonist EVERETTE HARP has toured with such artists as Kenny Loggins and Anita Baker. His music can be heard nightly playing the theme song for Entertainment Tonight.

JOHNNY RIVERS IN THE ROUND FRI., FEB. 22ND
JOHNNY RIVERS IN THE ROUND FRI., FEB. 22ND
PHOENIX, AZ Secret Agent Man JOHNNY RIVERS rocks Phoenix at the intimate Celebrity Theatre on Friday, February 22nd. Tickets start as low as 27.50!
In the pantheon of easy-to-play guitar licks, the opening of "Secret Agent Man" is up there with "Sunshine of Your Love" and "Satisfaction." The Top 5 hit in 1966 is currently featured on the J.P. Morgan Chase Bank television commercial. It was just one of a string of top-sellers for Rivers, who sold more than 20 million records in the '60s alone. Rising to worldwide fame during the height of Beatlemania with a series of albums recorded at the Whisky A Go-Go on Sunset Strip, the soulful singer was first known for toughening up vintage rock 'n' roll standards. In the late '60s, though, Rivers changed direction with the self-penned chart-topper "Poor Side of Town," a soulful ballad followed by another in a similar vein, "Summer Rain." During the '70s and beyond, Rivers returned to his rockin' roots, cutting album after album of vibrant rock 'n' roll.
Last Boogie in Paris: the Complete Concert was recorded live on May 23, 1973 and released last summer. Among its exhilarating live versions are the Clowns Rockin Pneumonia and the Boogie Woogie Flu and Carl Perkinss Blue Suede Shoes.
Rivers 40 plus year career is chronicled on his self-produced two-disc collection of material: Secret Agent Man: The Ultimate Johnny Rivers Anthology: 1964-2006. The Anthology features 19 of his chart hits, including 15 hard-to-find tracks released on his own label, plus two new recordings. Included are covers of Chuck Berrys Memphis and Maybelline, which were recorded live at Hollywoods Whisky A Go Go in early 1964, as well his best known record, 1966s Secret Agent Man. Anthology entered the Collector's Choice Music chart at #1 two months prior to the national distribution release date.
Showtime is set for 8 p.m. Tickets (27.50, 37.50, 42.50) are available at Celebrity Theatre or online at CelebrityTheatre.com. To charge by phone call 602-267-1600 ext.1. All tickets are subject to a surcharge. Celebrity Theatre is conveniently located on 32nd St., just 4 blocks south of the Loop 202 freeway, in Phoenix.

TURBO OCHO - A new album based on first-ever RCPM VivaCast available March 15, 2008
Phoenix, AZ (January 29, 2008) – Roger Clyne & the Peacemakers (RCPM) will release the much-anticipated CD/DVD chronicle of January 2008’s revolutionary reality-recording experiment, Turbo Ocho. RCPM coined the term “VivaCast” to describe their 8-day recording of Turbo Ocho. The package features the original VivaCast in its entirety (8 new songs and 10 videos) plus 3 new studio songs with additional video footage. The album will launch with a kick-off concert in Phoenix at Celebrity Theatre on Saturday, March 15. Shooter Jennings will open the 8:00 pm show.
Roger Clyne & The Peacemakers have been independent pioneers in the music business for 10 years. This year they once again step to the edge of the envelope with the release of Turbo Ocho, the first-ever RCPM VivaCast, a web cast that brought daily audio and video updates to thousands of homes during the recording process, culminating with a sold out concert in Cholla Bay, Mexico. RCPM once again broke through old definitions of what is expected of a rock and roll band and forged their own path directly to what matters most, the fans.
Turbo Ocho is rock and roll in its purest form. The album’s vibration is edgy, and careless and celebratory. From the bravado of “I Know You Know” to the restorative heart of “Mercy” to the straight up rock in “I Do,” its imperfections and spontaneity are honest and exciting as it takes you through your own personal rock and roll journey of love, loss, growth and even a little siesta.
Clyne’s songwriting is often compared to the greats of Rock and Americana music, including Bruce Springsteen, Tom Petty, John Mellencamp and Steve Earle. As frontman for mid-90s The Refreshments, Clyne scored hits with the singles “Banditos” and “Down Together” and also secured a place in TV history when he penned and performed the super-energized theme for the hit animated FOX-TV show, “King of the Hill”.
Country rocker Shooter Jennings is widely known for his live show and the energy that explodes from each performance with his band, the .357’s. Shooters gripping third studio album, aptly titled The Wolf was released in October 2007. The Wolf’s thirteen tracks present a compelling portrait of a young man and his music. It’s full of fire and conviction – about what music can mean in people’s lives, about overcoming setbacks through sheer strength of will, and about how being tough means being willing to feel and acknowledge painful emotions.
