Return To Forever - The Anthology Out Today!

To commemorate Return To Forever's World Tour 2008, founding members Chick Corea and Stanley Clarke have personally selected and overseen the careful remixing and remastering of their ground-breaking repertoire, The Anthology, released by Concord Records on May 27, 2008.

The band culled tunes from their classic albums Hymn of the Seventh Galaxy (1973), Where Have I Known You Before (1974), the Grammy-winning No Mystery (1975) and their top-selling gold record Romantic Warrior (1976) - 20 tracks that made them a titanic influence on an entire generation of players.

Grammy-winning engineer Mick Guzauski took the original master tapes right back down to the basics and built it all back up with studio tools not available back then. Not a reinvention or reimagination, it's more a restoration of how the band really sounded before the digital era. No one has ever heard Return To Forever like this.

A booklet featuring never-before-seen photos of the band, individual recollections from each band member and a narrative liner essay from Grammy winner Bob Belden add even more to the experience.

Find out more about the album at http://return2forever.com. Also learn how you can see the band play its songs live on the tour, and about special VIP packages that can get you backstage or into a soundcheck.

THE RIPPINGTONS' 20TH ANNIVERSARY TOUR

For immediate release: 27 May 2008

THE RIPPINGTONS' 20TH ANNIVERSARY TOUR

PHOENIX, AZ – The Sanderson Ford Lincoln Mercury Volvo Music Series presents THE RIPPINGTONS starring Russ Freeman on Friday, June 6th. Special guest MINDI ABAIR starts the show at 8 p.m.; doors open at 6:30 p.m.

Russ Freeman founded the award-winning contemporary jazz group THE RIPPINGTONS in 1987. The band has enjoyed tremendous success from the beginning, with their groundbreaking album Moonlighting. Jazziz Magazine voted Moonlighting as the #1 Most Influential Contemporary Jazz Album of all time. Early personnel included David Benoit, Kenny G, Brandon Fields, and Gregg Karukas. Special guest stars have included Dave Grusin, Joe Sample, Dave Koz, Bob James, Kirk Whalum... the list goes on. In recent years people like Jeff Kashiwa made their names known from their association with the Ripps, and although the careers of many musicians have evolved from the Ripps, one thing remains constant: the songwriting and production skills of Russ Freeman. Marking an incredible milestone in the history of smooth jazz, the band celebrates its 20th Anniversary with a new CD/DVD package that includes all new Ripps music and a DVD featuring exciting videos from over the years.

Five of the tunes on special guest MINDI ABAIR’S new Stars album are vocals but for now it’s the instrumental “Smile” that’s charting in the top 20 of the R&R Smooth Jazz chart. Stars is the follow up to the composer-vocalist-saxophonist’s 2006 CD Life Less Ordinary, which debuted on Billboard’s Contemporary Jazz chart at #1. She has had three #1 singles, "Bloom" and "True Blue" from Life Less Ordinary, and "Lucy's" from the album It Just Happens That Way. Abair was named Best New Artist at the 2003 National Smooth Jazz Awards. This month, she debuts as the new host of Chris Botti’s Chill program. The popular show syndicated by Rendezvous Entertainment and Smooth Jazz Consultants Broadcast Architecture has been hosted by Botti since September 2004. Chill with Mindi Abair will feature the same mix of music including artists like Praful and Moby.

“We couldn’t be more excited for this opportunity to play on the same bill with bands we respect, and to help an organization whose work we respect,” says Third Day bassist Tai Anderson. “The only message we have for our fans is this: Get ready.” Adds Jon Foreman, lead vocalist for Switchfoot: “We have all worked with Habitat for Humanity before, and when approached about touring together, to benefit such a great cause, it was easy to say yes. We all want to be a part of something that makes a difference. Through Habitat this tour will help build houses for many deserving families - that's something we can all rally around."

The tour will benefit Habitat for Humanity’s home building in many ways. Artists on the tour will collectively donate $1 to Habitat for Humanity for each ticket sold during the tour. Over the past decade, Atlanta-based Third Day has racked up 24 No.1 radio singles and sold more than six million albums, with RIAA certifications including one Platinum record, one Platinum DVD, and six Gold records. The band has garnered 23 career Dove Awards, three GRAMMY Awards, two consecutive American Music Award nods, multiple ASCAP honors, and has developed a historic partnership with Chevrolet. Third Day – comprised of Mac Powell (lead vocals), Mark Lee (guitar), Tai Anderson (bass) and David Carr (drums) – has maintained a touring record second-to-none by playing for audiences reaching into the millions. In addition to these many accolades, the band is most proud of its humanitarian efforts that include raising nearly $300,000 for the victims of hurricanes Katrina and Rita and charities such as the Blood:Water Mission. The band is responsible for encouraging over 15,000 fans to sponsor children across the globe through the work of World Vision.

Revelation, Third Day’s eleventh studio album, was produced by Howard Benson (All American Rejects, Flyleaf, Daughtry) and is already receiving acclaim at radio for its first single, “Call My Name.” In addition, it’s garnering very positive early feedback from media. The single released digitally through Amazonmp3.com the same day it was released to radio (April 4) and rocketed to the No. 1 spot that day. The album drops July 29. For more information on Third Day, please visit: www.ThirdDay.com

With over five million records sold, three albums in the Billboard Top 20, two top-five singles at both pop and alternative radio, Switchfoot is recognized as one of the hardest touring bands in rock. The San Diego-based band has sold nearly three million concert tickets worldwide since the 2003 release of its double-Platinum breakthrough album The Beautiful Letdown. Oh! Gravity, Switchfoot’s latest studio album, debuted at No. 1 on the iTunes Top Albums chart and received stellar reviews, with Billboard magazine calling it “the best of the San Diego group’s nearly 10-year recording career.” Spin exclaimed this album is “their liveliest record, full of dive-bombing guitar fuzz, juicy arena-alt choruses.” “This is an outstanding record in every sense,” raved Associated Press. MTV’s “Life of Ryan” tapped the album’s title track for its theme song as the album showcases a harder rock direction for Switchfoot. “This Is Home,” a song written by the band for Prince Caspian, the new Narnia movie, will be featured in the end credits of the film and is the lead single and video for the accompanying soundtrack. Switchfoot’s next album is due out this fall.

With an ever-growing fan base, Switchfoot has also been actively involved in a number of humanitarian causes since its inception, including DATA, Bono’s THE ONE Campaign, Invisible Children, Habitat for Humanity and To Write Love on Her Arms. The band further founded the Switchfoot Bro-Am, a surfing and music benefit-event, and the online magazine, lowercase people (www.lowercasepeople.com), a daring new endeavor to revolutionize the way beauty, truth and humanity are viewed. Switchfoot is: Jon Foreman (vocals, guitar); Tim Foreman (bass, backing vocals); Chad Butler (drums); Jerome Fontamillas (guitar, keys, backing vocals); and Andrew Shirley (guitar). For more information on Switchfoot, go to www.switchfoot.com.

Since emerging from a House of God church in Orange, New Jersey, Robert Randolph has been named one of the 100 greatest guitar players of all time by Rolling Stone. Following the path of other gospel-rooted pop stars like the amazing Aretha Franklin, he always intended to return to his own gospel roots at different points throughout his career. For 2008, the Grammy-nominated Randolph has teamed with acclaimed producer T-Bone Burnett to record a new album that is part rock and part sacred steel, the Gospel music heritage that serves as the foundation to Randolph's music. Robert Randolph & the Family Band (comprised of Randolph on guitars and vocals, Danyel Morgan on bass, Marcus Randolph on drums and Jason Crosby on Hammond organ and piano) will be on the road with Eric Clapton this summer (Bonnaroo and other festivals). For more information on Robert Randolph & the Family Band, go to http://www.robertrandolph.net.

Multi-Platinum and GRAMMY Award winning band Jars of Clay (Dan Haseltine, Charlie Lowell, Stephen Mason, and Matt Odmark) launched its career with the hit song, “Flood” in 1995. Since then, it’s amassed more than five million in career sales (5 Gold, 2 platinum and 1 double platinum certifications), three GRAMMY Awards, an American Music Award nod, 17 No.1 radio hits, and numerous film credits and BMI honors for songwriting and performing.
In June of 2007, the band blazed a new trail with the creation of their own label imprint, “Gray Matters” under the Nettwerk Music Group umbrella. Their first release, “Christmas Songs,” was released in the fall of 2007 and has garnered both critical acclaim and commercial success. The band has just released its "Greatest Hits" record and is currently working on their next studio record, due in the early part of 2009. For more information, please visit: www.jarsofclay.com

Special Ticket Offer – 4 pack of lawn tickets for $99.00 plus applicable service charges

Phoenix, AZ (May 9, 2008) Country music’s dynamic duo Brooks & Dunn is joining forces with the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame’s trio from Texas ZZ Top to perform at Cricket Wireless Pavilion on Saturday, August 2. The two titans of their respective genres have shown enthusiasm for each other’s talent teaming up on a CMT televised concert, but this is the first time they will be touring together. The show will begin at 7:00pm with special guest Rodney Atkins.

Super duo Brooks & Dunn are the most-awarded act in CMA and ACM history. With more than 30 million albums sold, they delivered some of the best music of their career with their most recent album, Cowboy Town. The powerful new album’s first single, “Proud of the House We Built,” is another smash in a career of more than twenty #1 singles.

ZZ Top’s original members guitarist Billy F. Gibbons, bassist Dusty Hill and drummer Frank Beard have produced their own rowdy-brand of blues-rock for more than 30 years. ZZ Top plays red-hot Texas boogie and blues, and no one does it better or has done it longer than this “little ol’ band from Texas.” Their songs are laden with pop culture references, sexual double entendres and the determined pursuit of a good time.

Rodney Atkins latest album If You’re Going Through Hell has been certified platinum in the United States, it has also produced four Number One singles in “If You’re Going Through Hell (Before the Devil Even Knows), “Watching You”, “These Are My People” and “Cleaning This Gun (Come On In Boy)”. He has grabbed multiple 2008 ACM nominations, including top male vocalist, album of the year, song of the year and video of the year for "Watching You." Coldplay North American Tour Viva La Vida

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Live Nation is very proud to announce

COLDPLAY “VIVA LA VIDA”
NORTH AMERICAN TOUR
SATURDAY, JULY 12

Phoenix, AZ (May 9, 2008) - Coldplay announce their “Viva La Vida” North American Tour in support of their new album of the same name, which will be released on June 17th. The tour, which will be produced by Live Nation, will kick off on June 29th in Philadelphia, PA and will make a stop in Glendale to perform at Jobing.com Arena on Saturday, July 12.

Before kicking off the “Viva La Vida” tour, Coldplay will play free concerts in London (June 16th at the Brixton Academy) and New York (June 23rd at Madison Square Garden). Information on how to win tickets to these shows will be available at http://www.coldplay.com beginning today. The contest will run May 9th through June 1st. Winners will receive notification on June 5th.

Viva La Vida, Coldplay’s upcoming album, will be released by Capitol Music Group on June 17th. Produced by Brian Eno and Markus Dravs, the record is the follow-up to 2005’s X&Y, which debuted at #1 in 32 countries and has sold 10 million copies worldwide to date.

The album’s lead single “Violet Hill” was downloaded by two million people during the recent one-week period in which the band made the song available to fans for free. It is now for sale at all digital retailers and is quickly rising to the top of the charts at Modern Rock and AAA radio. Coldplay will perform “Violet Hill” on the “TODAY” show on NBC on Friday, June 27th. The band will also perform on Comedy Central’s “The Daily Show with Jon Stewart” on June 26th.

“[Lead singer Chris] Martin broods over a lost lover with a snarling acidity that makes him sound more human than ever – miles away from the dreamy romantic he was on soaring ballads like ‘Speed of Sound,’” said Rolling Stone, naming “Violet Hill” a must-have in a recent “Downloads” column. “Jonny Buckland rips jagged, bluesy riffs that match Martin’s mood while drummer Will Champion and bassist Guy Berryman maintain a stalking beat…primal rock & roll.” The Los Angeles Times pronounced the single a “promising return,” also marveling at its harder edge.

METAL MASTERS TOUR: Judas Priest, Heaven & Hell, Motorhead and Testament

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Live Nation and Budweiser present
93.3 KDKB’s Meltdown featuring

METAL LEGENDS JUDAS PRIEST, HEAVEN & HELL, MOTORHEAD, AND TESTAMENT
UNITE FOR ‘METAL MASTERS TOUR’

COMING TO CRICKET WIRELESS PAVILION
AUGUST 28, 2008

TICKETS ON-SALE SATURDAY, MAY 17 AT 10AM

Phoenix, AZ (May 9, 2008) – Live Nation has put together a killer package that is bound to go down as the heavy metal event of 2008 - Judas Priest, Heaven and Hell, Motorhead and Testament will be touring together for the first time. Dubbed ‘The Metal Masters Tour,’ the fifteen-date U.S. trek will make a stop in Phoenix to perform at Cricket Wireless Pavilion on Thursday, August 28. The show will begin at 5:30pm

Judas Priest will be supporting their epic concept album, Nostradamus, arriving June 17th via Epic Records, which tells the tale of the renowned 16th century prophet. A few tracks from Nostradamus will make their in-concert debut on ‘The Metal Masters Tour,’ but the majority of Priest’s set list will include some of metal’s all-time classics, as well as fan favorites that span the quintet’s entire career. Without a doubt, this will be one of Priest’s most powerful sets ever.

Heaven & Hell will be supporting the release of The Rules Of Hell, a five-CD boxed set available July 22nd from Rhino Records, which features re-mastered versions of all four Dio-era Black Sabbath albums (Heaven and Hell, Mob Rules, Live Evil and Dehumanizer) in a deluxe package with new liner notes.

Perennial road rats Motorhead will be offering a blistering barnstormer of a set spanning more than three decades of molar-rattling biker metal. A new studio album - the 20th of their storied career - is currently being recorded at their old pal Dave Grohl’s studio with an August release date targeted. Frontman Lemmy, named by the U.K.’s Guardian newspaper as “the nation’s greatest living Englishman,” blairs out, "Here it comes everybody, the test of your Metalness in 2008 and the years to come! Come one come all and be abused!"

Rounding out the line-up will be legendary thrash metal titans Testament, whose new album, The Formation of Damnation, (April 29th) displays Testament as the quintessential modern heavy metal band, whose experience and accumulated skill allows them to attack with reserves of anger, energy and finesse that make them more powerful than ever. Lead singer Chuck Billy says, “Uniting these bands is the heavy metal event of generations. We are so proud to be a part of it.”

Although all four bands may represent different subgenres of heavy metal, all four have one thing in common – they have stuck to their stylistic guns through thick and thin, and have remained true to the metal form. And soon, band and fan will be united as one on ‘The Metal Masters Tour.’

“As ever, we look forward to screaming out loud with our metal maniac fans when we hit the road,” enthuses Priest singer, Rob Halford. “Thank you once again for your devotion and support. The Priest is back!”

Bud Light Presents
CARLOS MENCIA:
AT CLOSE RANGE

FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 12 @ Jobing!

Phoenix, AZ (May 9, 2007) - Carlos Mencia, superstar/stand-up comedian, is undoubtedly one of today’s most lauded entertainers and feared comics. Whether it is man-on-the-street interviews, studio comedy, commercial parodies, or nationwide sold-out tours, Mencia demonstrates an extraordinary ability to connect with a diverse audience. He will bring his 60 city stand-up comedy tour BUD LIGHT PRESENTS CARLOS MENCIA: AT CLOSE RANGE to Jobing.com Arena on Friday, September 12. The show will begin at 8:00pm

One of the most popular comedians in the country, Carlos Mencia has the rare gift of insightful perception and precise delivery when addressing a variety of subjects, including ethnic stereotypes, racism and people's inability to laugh at themselves. He represents the internal voice inside us and demands we admit to thinking what he says out loud. Mencia's 2006 COMEDY CENTRAL Original Stand-up Special, "Carlos Mencia: No Strings Attached," was the first COMEDY CENTRAL Original Stand-up Special DVD to achieve Platinum sales status. Mencia’s new comedy special for Comedy Central, “Carlos Mencia: Performance Enhanced,” will premiere on Sunday, May 18 at 9:00p.m.

Carlos Mencia’s “Mind of Mencia” debuted on Comedy Central in early 2005. Since then, it has become one of the strongest shows in the network’s history, averaging about 1.5 million total viewers. “Mind of Mencia” is executive produced by Carlos Mencia and Robert Morton (“Late Night with David Letterman”). With the continued success of the show, the network has ordered a fourth season of the weekly hit, set to premiere Wednesday, May 21 at 10:30p.m. with ten all-new episodes. TOM WAITS: GLITTER AND DOOM TOUR

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Live Nation is very proud to present

“GLITTER AND DOOM”
THE TOM WAITS TOUR:
ORPHEUM THEATRE
JUNE 17 & 18

HITTING ARIZONA FOR THE FIRST TIME IN 30 YEARS
TICKETS ON-SALE FRIDAY, MAY 16 AT 12 NOON

Phoenix, AZ (May 8, 2008) - Eccentric musical shaman and rara avis TOM WAITS has decided to take his show to some of the summer’s hottest regions. The Grammy-winning artist will begin his “Glitter and Doom” tour in Phoenix for two shows at the Orpheum Theatre on Tuesday, June 17 and Wednesday, June 18. The tour will finish in Atlanta on July 5 at the Fox Theatre. Tickets for his previous “Orphans” tour in 2006 sold out in minutes.

When questioned about the summer inferno choice, Waits responded, “We’re going to the deep south where they still love a man who wears red pants and they make him feel welcome.”

Waits will be touring with longtime musical ally Larry Taylor (bass), Omar Torrez (guitar), Patrick Warren (keyboards), Casey Waits (drums and percussion) and as yet named reed player; performing hollers, mambos and rhumbas.

Of his last tour, critics were unanimous: The Chicago Tribune, “After two hours, Waits’ reprised ‘Time,’ a beautiful song, even in a land where it’s raining hammers and nails. Waits’ voice sounded like that hard rain. Even at its most tender, it was a gruff, unrelenting force of nature.” The Flint Journal (MI), “Waits took the eager capacity crowd on a journey of Wagnerian proportions…I hope we don’t have to wait another 19 years to sip from that cup again.” The Tennessean, “(Ryman Auditorium) Even back in the ancient, pre-country days when the holy structure was an actual church, it’s hard to imagine a more passionate sermonizer gracing the boards than Waits.”

Anti Records recently launched tomwaits.com with the release of the press conference clip for the “Glitter and Doom” tour. The site will have all tour info, news, photos and updates with a detailed explanation of the ticket policy. Waits’ press conference is currently the #1 featured video on YouTube.com with over 240,000 views in less than 72 hours.

As on his last tour, Waits’ U.S. booking agent and longtime tour director, Stuart Ross, has spent a great deal of effort to fight ticket scalpers. Along with Ticketmaster, he has worked out a plan he believes will make sure every fan pays face value (plus normal service and handling fees) for the tickets purchased for the “Glitter and Doom” tour.

TICKETS ON-SALE FRIDAY MAY 16 AT 12 NOON
Tickets priced at $90.00 will go on-sale Friday, May 16 at 12 NOON at Ticketmaster com, and by phone at 480.784.4444 (Phoenix Metro Area) or 520.321.1000 (Outside Phoenix Area) only.

Tickets are not available at retail locations or the box office. All tickets will be delivered via Paperless Ticket™. You will not receive paper tickets for these events.

At the time of entry, you must present the credit card used to purchase your tickets as well as a valid government-issued photo ID. Your entire party must enter the venue at the same time.

In other Waits news, unrelated to the tour, WAITS has finished filming The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus, a romantic fantasy adventure starring Heath Ledger, Christopher Plummer, Johnny Depp, Colin Farrell, Jude Law, Vern Troyer and Lily Cole with renowned director Terry Gilliam (Time Bandits, Brazil, Twelve Monkeys, Brothers Grimm).

Candlebox Return With Their First New Album in 10 Years – INTO THE SUN out July 22nd on Silent Majority/ILG.

“Stand,” the first single off INTO THE SUN, goes to Active Rock and Rock Radio this month - Candlebox On Tour All Summer.

May 5th, 2008 – Seattle, WA: Candlebox make their triumphant return to the modern music game this summer with their first new record in ten years. INTO THE SUN will be released July 22nd on Silent Majority Group in conjunction with Warner Music Group’s Independent Label Group.

The original Candlebox songwriting team of singer Kevin Martin and guitarist Peter Klett along with original drummer Scott Mercado, reunited shortly before the 2006 Rhino/Warner Brothers retrospective, Best Of Candlebox was released. Candlebox’s 2008 lineup features 3 of the founding 4 members – Only bass player Bardi Martin has been replaced by Adam Kury. After being apart for more than 7 years, Martin and Klett discovered that the time and tide apart had nurtured enhanced chemistry and mutual personal evolution that has now manifested in a cache of new songs that leave their past works, for lack of a better phrase, far behind.

INTO THE SUN was produced by Ron Aniello (Barenaked Ladies, Lifehouse) engineered by Cliff Norrell (REM, Henry Rollins) & mixed by Norrell and Mike Shipley (Nickelback, Def Leppard). Kevin Martin (Vocals) and Peter Klett (Guitar) Scott Mercado (DRUMS) and Adam Kury (BASS) have come together to make a bold, eclectic mix of rhythms and textures that will make long-time Candlebox fans mouth’s water and has the potential to vault this band back into the national spotlight. Remember, this is a band that’s sold over Six Million albums in the US alone.

INTO THE SUN Confirmed Tracklisting:
Stand
Bitches Brewin
Surrendering
Into The Sun
Underneath It All
Miss You
How Does It Feel
A Kiss Before The Dying
Breathe Intro
Breathe Me In
Lover Come Back To Me
Consider Us

“Stand,” the first single off Into The Sun, goes to active and rock radio in May and is currently streaming on the bands MySpace page, www.myspace.com/candlebox - If you think radio programmers have forgotten about Candlebox, think again. Candlebox is as permanently entrenched on rock radio playlists as a Nirvana or a Pearl Jam. Check out these airplay stats pulled from Mediabase this week that prove that Candlebox hits like “Far Behind” and “You” are still extremely relevant in 2008:

Statements from Candlebox band members:

Kevin Martin, Vocals:
“I really feel this is our best work to date, seemed like old times in the studio and I really enjoyed making this record. When we started writing the songs for this record back in ’07 I think we all felt like we were on to something special. I think you can hear that in the songs, they just speak to you like an old friend you haven’t seen in years but are so happy to be able to catch up with.”

Peter Klett, Guitar:
“Making this record reminded me of the first album - we didn't feel that we needed to find the sound, it was there and the goal was to capture it in the recording. I feel we did that and more...it was nice to end up with some live, off the cuff, recordings such as the intro to breathe....it was one of those moments that just happens...all of us in the same room feeding off one another....very exciting to feel that again.”

Scott Mercado, Drums:
“Without a doubt, Candlebox fans are the most loyal and greatest fans in the whole world. I can’t wait to hear what they think!”
