Tempe Music Festival with Ferge and My Chemical Romance!

FERGIE, MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE TO HEADLINE CIRCLE K TEMPE MUSIC FESTIVAL; TICKETS ON SALE VALENTINE’S DAY

Tickets for the 2008 Circle K Tempe Music Festival, Arizona’s largest music festival, go on sale at 10 a.m. through Ticketmaster and Live Nation on February 14, 2008. Advanced ticket prices range from $35 for general admission to $125 for the VIP Area, and tickets are limited. Weekend passes are also available. The event headliners this year will be My Chemical Romance on Friday and Fergie on Saturday, with additional acts being named each week leading up to the big event.

“We are stepping it up this year in a big way with our headliners and “more than music attractions,” said Ken Koziol, co-founder of the Tempe Music Festival. “The Superbowl and FBR set the bar very high for 2008 – a bar we fully intend to meet with our festival.”
The 6TH Annual Circle K Tempe Music Festival is being held March 28 and 29 at Tempe Beach Park and boasts three stages of entertainment featuring national, regional and local acts. The event will also host its annual “Garage Band Competition” sponsored by SRP, Fender Musical Instrument Corporation and Cox Communications, where high school and college-aged bands from across Arizona will compete for scholarships, all new instruments from Fender, and the opportunity to open for the event headliners.
In addition to the 30-plus musical acts performing on the three stages over the weekend, the event has come to be known as much more than music with some of the most unique attractions Arizona has ever seen.
These include:
· The Dillard’s Rock’n’Roll Fashion Show
· The Rock Star Energy Drink Extreme Sports demonstrations including BMX bike, skateboard and much more
· The Land Shark Beach Lounge
· The Bud Light Sports Bar
· The Gatorade Sports Village with a free interactive sports area that includes foosball, pop-a-shot basketball, air hockey and darts
· The SRP Lil’ Rockers Area with hands-on interactive instruments and music-related arts and crafts as well as karaoke and a children’s musical museum
· The SRP Music Shack & Garage Band Competition where the SRP Garage Band Competition finalists will battle it out to see who will open for the event headliners
Circle K will also build a fully operational store on-site, and nearly 40 food, beverage and retail vendors will be offering product samplings, giveaways and other promotions all weekend long.
“If FBR is the greatest show on grass, we like to think of ourselves as the greatest show right next to a man-made lake in the desert,” said Kevin Koziol, Ken’s brother and co-founder of the event.

The Circle K Tempe Music Festival has again partnered with Arizona State University for a student night on Friday, as well as partnering again with the Tempe Festival of the Arts to become “Tempe Arts & Entertainment Weekend.” The music festival has also partnered with several local charities including United Cerebral Palsy and Cox Charities.
Tempe Beach Park is located at the northwest corner of Rio Salado Parkway and Mill Avenue in downtown Tempe, Ariz.
