Jan. 30 – Feb. 2 across the street from the FBR Open. Gates will open at 3:30 pm as the Best Damn Sports Show Period (BDSSP) will record their television show from 4 to 6 pm Wednesday through Friday live at the Birds Nest. Featuring both current and former sports stars and celebrities, BDSSP is a unique 60-minute show that blends the worlds of sports and entertainment through interviews. Hosted by Chris Rose, Rodney Peete, John Salley and Rob Dibble, BDSSP will be a great opportunity for fans to see their favorite sports stars and celebrities in town for the Super Bowl and FBR Open in person. Plus, fans will have the chance to appear on national television.

Duck Soup, a fan favorite at the Birds Nest will once again get the party started, as they take the Southwest Airlines Main Stage Wednesday and Thursday evenings at 6 p.m. The Chadwicks will open on Friday evening at 6 and the Groove Merchants will open Saturday evening at 6 pm.

Main acts will take the stage each evening at approximately 8 p.m.Headlining the entertainment on Wednesday, Jan. 30 is Super Diamond. Since 1993, they have made it their mission to spread the “Good Word of Neil (Diamond)” to all, bridging the gap between young and old. The ever-popular KC & the Sunshine Band will headline on Thursday, Jan. 31. Harry Wayne Casey – KC, for short – developed a unique fusion of R&B and funk, with a hint of a Latin percussion groove, giving us an impressive string of hits like “Get Down Tonight,” “That’s The Way” (I Like It) and “Shake Your Booty.” KC & the Sunshine Band is still as widely popular today as they were when they first danced onto the music scene 33 years ago. Tainted Love, an 80’s cover band who performs regularly in San Francisco, will headline at The Birds Nest on Friday, Feb. 1. Back by popular demand after wowing Birds Nest crowds last year with their highly stylized, nonstop 80’s show, Tainted Love brings energy and excitement by performing classic 80’s tunes that will have everyone dancing.Metalhead, an Arizona-based 80’s glam rock cover band, will headline on Saturday evening. Dressed in the traditional 80’s hair band ensemble, Metalhead will not disappoint. With band members Lucky, Steele Wulff, G-String and Tommi Legg, this is one rock concert you will not want to miss.

The Birds Nest is located directly across from the main FBR Open tournament entrance at 82nd Street and Bell Road. The entertainment venue opens at 3:30 pm and closes at 10 pm Wednesday, Jan. 30 – Saturday, Feb. 2. General admission tickets are available through Ticketmaster (480-784-4444 or www.ticketmaster.com) for just $25, with Crown Royal VIP tickets (includes food and drink) available for $175. The 2008 FBR Open will take place Jan. 28 – Feb. 3 at the TPC Scottsdale. This year will mark the 73rd playing of the Open, making it one of the five oldest events on the PGA TOUR. With more than 500,000 spectators each year, the FBR Open is the most popular event on the PGA TOUR.
