KICK OFF SUPER BOWL WEEKEND WITH DOUG FLUTIE'S BAND

KICK OFF SUPER BOWL WEEKEND WITH DOUG FLUTIE’S BAND

SCOTTSDALE, AZ – Kick off Super Bowl weekend with former New England Patriot QB Doug Flutie and his band when they perform live at 8 p.m. on Friday, February 1st at Mickey’s Hangover. Tickets in advance are just $20.

John Madden once said, “Inch for inch, Flutie in his prime was the best QB of his generation.” Flutie’s talents on the field seemingly carried over to his love for music. The retired NFL star and his brother Darren Flutie (former wide receiver) began playing music over a decade ago as a way to blow off steam during the off-season. The Flutie Brothers Band has recorded two albums, including “Catch This.” They also wrote and recorded the Saturday Night Football theme song for the Canadian Football League, which is featured weekly on CBC. Other band highlights include Doug Flutie being crowned the NFL’s Best Musician for his appearance with the Barenaked Ladies on Monday Night Football, earning him a spot in the halftime show of the Pro-bowl. Most importantly, this musical chapter has enabled the group to play throughout the U.S. and Canada, while raising money and awareness for the Doug Flutie, Jr. Foundation for Autism. The band has opened for such acts as Lynyrd Skynyrd, Bo Diddley and Meredith Brooks.

The Flutie Brothers Band consists of classic rockers: drummer Doug Flutie, guitarist Darren Flutie, vocalist Sean Jenness, keyboardist Ted Armstrong, Mike Smith on guitar/vocals, and Spencer Hargis on bass/vocals.

Tickets in advance are $20/$30 day of show, and available at Mickey’s Hangover, 4312 N. Brown Avenue, in Scottsdale. For nightclub hours, or directions to Mickey’s Hangover, call 480-425-0111.
